SKI AND SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS:
Instructor & Assistant Instructor positions available.
No instructor experience required.
We’ll train you to teach or assist in our pre-season training program.
Pre-Season Training dates:
- Orientation Meeting: October 8th - 10:00 am
(Call for details. Missed the meeting? It may not be too late, just give us call.)
- Off-Snow Training #1 November 12th - 9 am to 3pm
- Off-Snow Training #2 November 19th – 9 am to 3 pm
- On-Snow Training: November 26, 27; December 3, 4,10,11,17,18
Work Schedule: Choose: Friday Night and/or, Saturday and/or Sunday.
Work seven weeks; January 8—February 21 -up to 11 hours per week.
Requirements for hiring: CPR/First Aid certification, demonstrated skill & responsibility during pre-season training clinics.

CHAPERONES:
The Chaperone Program has a long a distinguished history within Lyon Ski School. Chaperones who are chosen to work with Lyon Ski School share a passion for snow sports and a desire to impact children’s lives positively. Working hand-in-hand with the instruction staff, chair riders and administration, chaperones help teach key life lessons to youth made receptive by a shared love of the mountain environment.
Requirements for hiring:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- There is a strict no smoking, no drugs and no alcohol policy!
- Completion of Lyon Ski School, Inc. Chaperone Training curriculum, annually
Compensation:
- Complimentary Lift ticket each day worked
- Free weekly lesson for chaperone (not transferrable)
- With a 7 week commitment, free bus transportation for 1 dependent child (space is limited)
Responsibilities:
- Meet & load buses.
- Ride bus to and from Stevens Pass:
Chaperones are placed on buses based on seniority and a proven record of dependability. In addition, an attempt is made to have one male and one female chaperone on each bus.
- Monitor behavior
- Mountain Duty:
Chaperones serve 1 rotation in the lodge at the Lyon Ski School meeting area, each day. The duty lasts approximately 30-45 minutes (dependent upon the number of buses and chaperones). During this time, chaperones are available to children who may need help, are sick or injured. As part of duty, chaperones check ski patrol and maintain the Lyon Ski School records for student pick-up and first aid.
